Job Description – Business Development Manager

We are seeking a driven and commercially focused Business Development Manager to join Cando Personnel Ltd in Gravesend. The successful candidate will identify new business opportunities, build strong client relationships and drive revenue growth.

The ideal candidate will have proven B2B sales, recruitment or business development experience, with excellent communication, negotiation and networking skills. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to play a key role in growing the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities across target sectors.
• Proactively contact prospective clients through telephone, email, networking, meetings, and other business development activities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
• Understand clients' workforce and recruitment requirements and recommend appropriate staffing solutions.
• Generate new leads and convert them into active clients.
• Arrange and conduct client meetings and presentations.
• Develop and negotiate commercial proposals and recruitment/labour supply agreements.
• Manage the sales pipeline and maintain accurate records of business development activity.
• Follow up on enquiries, proposals, and prospective opportunities.
• Work closely with the recruitment and operations teams to ensure client requirements are successfully delivered.
• Identify opportunities to increase business with existing clients.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and potential new sectors.
• Attend networking events, industry meetings, and client visits where appropriate.
• Meet and exceed agreed sales, revenue, and new-client targets.
• Provide regular reports and updates to management regarding sales activity and pipeline development.
• Represent Cando Personnel Ltd professionally and maintain the company's reputation in the marketplace.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience in business development, B2B sales, recruitment, or a similar commercial role.
• Strong track record of generating and winning new business.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Confident dealing with business owners, senior managers, HR departments, and decision-makers.
• Strong telephone, email, and face-to-face communication skills.
• Target-driven and commercially focused.
• Excellent relationship-building and networking abilities.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple prospects and opportunities simultaneously..
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel to meet clients, where required.
