CNC Machinist (Miller)

We are looking for an experienced CNC Machinist (Miller) to join our team working to EN9100 standards in the aerospace and defence sectors. 

• Location: Brentwood Essex
• Salary: £17 - £22 per hour (depending on experience)
• Full time / Permanent
• Day shift:  39 hours per week
• Monday to Thursday 8am – 4.30pm / Friday 8am -3.30pm

Key role and accountabilities:
To set and operate CNC milling machines.

• Produce accurate, high quality components with maximum efficiency
• Competently set and operate Mazak CNC horizontal and vertical machining centres
• Work to tight tolerances and check your own work meets the required standards
• To work on your own initiative and understand all aspects of the manufacturing processes
• Quality check your finished components
• Clean and maintain CNC machine and all associated equipment and machine area.
• Working to EN9100 standards

Core skills/attributes needed:

• Fully skilled/experienced/time served CNC setter/operator
• Experience on horizontal and/or vertical milling machines
• Programming experience would be an advantage but not essential
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings
• Able to use a wide variety of measuring equipment (Micrometers/calipers/gauges)
• Be able to concentrate and produce quality finished components
• Ability to pay attention to detail
• Able to apply good practical skills and to follow written instructions
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
• Able to work safely and follow all health and safety protocols
