Commercial Plumber / Mechanical Engineer

Location: Guildford, Surrey (GU2)
Salary: £41,500 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm or 7:00am–4:00pm
Contract: Permanent, static site

We are recruiting for an experienced Commercial Plumber / Mechanical Engineer to join a facilities maintenance team at a large commercial healthcare site in Guildford.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically minded engineer looking for a stable, Monday-to-Friday role at a single site, with a competitive salary and a strong benefits package.

The Role

You will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the building's mechanical and plumbing systems, helping to ensure the site operates safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities:

• Carrying out planned and reactive plumbing and mechanical maintenance.

• Maintaining pipework, valves, taps, toilets and associated plumbing systems.

• Inspecting plant rooms, pumps, heating systems and mechanical equipment.

• Diagnosing faults and completing repairs efficiently.

• Completing maintenance records and relevant compliance documentation.

• Supporting health and safety procedures and maintaining high site standards.

• Liaising with colleagues, contractors and the client when required.

Requirements

• A minimum Level 2 qualification in Plumbing or Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent relevant qualification.

• Experience in commercial building maintenance or facilities management.

• Strong plumbing and mechanical fault-finding skills.

• Knowledge of PPM and reactive maintenance.

• A professional, reliable and customer-focused approach.
