Job description
Electrical Engineer – Birstall – £20.50ph PAYE – ASAP Start – TEMP
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a leading facilities management provider on a temporary contract at a manufacturing facility in Birstall, West Yorkshire.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Electrical Engineer looking for an immediate start, with a minimum one-month contract and the potential for ongoing work.

Pay Rate: £20.50 per hour PAYE
Contract: Temporary – Minimum 1 Month
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: 6:30am – 3pm
Environment: Manufacturing / Industrial
Responsibilities
- As an Electrical Engineer, your duties will include:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) and reactive electrical repairs.
- Electrical fault finding, lighting repairs and emergency lighting checks.
- Completing statutory compliance inspections and maintenance records.
- Carrying out basic plumbing, water temperature checks and minor fabric repairs.
- Supporting fire door inspections and general building maintenance.
- Liaising with contractors and ensuring work is completed safely.
- Updating maintenance documentation and complying with health and safety procedures.
Requirements
- To be considered for this Electrical Engineer position, you will need:
- NVQ Level 3 Electrical Qualification + AM2 (or equivalent) – Essential
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations – Essential
- Valid ECS/CSCS Grade Card or equivalent – Essential
- 2391 Inspection & Testing – Desirable
- Previous electrical maintenance experience within commercial or industrial environments.
- Experience with PPMs, reactive maintenance and general building services.
- Basic plumbing and fabric maintenance skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- BMS experience and knowledge of SFG20 desirable.
