Electronic Design Engineer
Ceredigion, Wales
Up to £45,000 plus bonuses

Are you an Electronic Design Engineer looking for a hands-on role where you can take electronic products from design through to production?

We're working with an established engineering business in Ceredigion, Wales that is looking to strengthen its R&D team with an Electronic Design Engineer.

This is a varied role covering electronic hardware design, PCB development, prototyping, testing and troubleshooting, with the opportunity to work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams.

The Role as a Electronic Design Engineer:
You'll be involved in the design and development of electronic products, including:

• Electronic schematic design and PCB layout
• Developing analogue and digital electronic circuits
• Building and testing prototype hardware
• Debugging and fault-finding at circuit level
• Working with microcontrollers and embedded electronic systems
• Carrying out testing and validation of new designs
• Supporting the transfer of designs into production
• Working with manufacturing teams on DFM and DFA
• Investigating production and design issues
• Producing technical documentation and test reports
• Working with suppliers and external manufacturing partners

About You
We're looking for an experienced electronics engineer with a strong practical approach to design and development.
You'll ideally have:

• A degree or equivalent experience in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
• Commercial experience in electronic hardware design
• Strong schematic and PCB design experience
• Experience taking designs from concept through to production
• Good knowledge of analogue and digital electronics
• Experience using laboratory test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analysers and signal generators
• Strong prototyping, testing and fault-finding skills
• An understanding of EMC and electronics compliance
