Price the work. Watch it get built.

A specialist civil engineering contractor in Staffordshire is looking for an Estimator to join its in-house team. You’ll price a varied mix of retaining walls, slope stabilisation, gabions, erosion control and vegetated structures for infrastructure, flood defence and landscaping schemes across the UK.

This is a business that designs, manufactures and installs its own systems, so you’ll sit alongside chartered engineers and a site team who can answer your questions in the next room, not the next week. You’ll see how your estimates turn into finished work, and your input will be valued.

The role

  • Take enquiries through to accurate, competitive tenders
  • Work up quantities, costs and pricing from drawings and specifications
  • Build relationships with consultants, local authorities and main contractors
  • Work with the design and operations teams on value engineering
  • Pass won projects across to delivery with clear, reliable information

About you

  • Estimating experience in civil engineering, groundworks, landscaping, geotechnical or a similar supply and install trade
  • Confident reading drawings and pricing from scratch
  • Organised, commercially minded and happy owning your own tender pipeline
  • Experience with gabions, retaining walls, drainage or erosion control is useful but not essential. Good estimators learn fast.

Why apply

  • Varied, interesting projects, from river banks to highways embankments
  • A UK manufacturer with its own technical team
  • A stable, established employer with a strong reputation in a growing sector
  • A salary and package that reflect your experience
