Job description

Join an organisation that puts people at the heart of everything it does!

Our client is a leading provider of high-quality home care services for older people on an impressive growth path, recognised with an Outstanding rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) consistently and across all their branches in the region. As they continue to expand, they are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to take ownership of the finance function, support business performance and drive continuous improvement. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive, ambitious organisation where you can make a real impact and help shape the future of a fast-growing organisation.

The Opportunity

  • As Finance Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day finance function, ensuring accurate reporting, robust financial controls and efficient processes.
  • You will prepare monthly management accounts with the support of the external accountants, and support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
  • You will manage client invoicing, debtors, creditors, supplier payments, payroll, expenses and pensions.
  • The Finance Manager will also monitor financial performance, ensure compliance with statutory requirements and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Working closely with the Managing Director, external accountants and operational teams, you will grow and develop the finance team as the business grows.

About You

  • Preferably fully or part qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), with proven experience in a Finance Manager or similar role.
  • Experience in health or social care finance would be advantageous, particularly an understanding of the complexities of care professional payroll, including hourly rates, travel time, mileage and expenses.
  • Strong technical knowledge of financial reporting, tax, audit and financial controls.
  • Advanced Excel and accounting software skills (ideally including Xero); experience with Access health and social care software would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • A proactive, commercially minded leader with excellent organisation, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Hands-on, trustworthy and resilient, with a positive attitude and a genuine commitment to high standards of care.

Ready to take the next step in your finance career? We’d love to hear from you! Please send your CV and cover email highlighting your current package and motivation for applying to this position to our retained consultants at Cooper Edwards.
