Foreman / Assistant Site Manager

Tier 1 Main Contractor | Friston

We are currently seeking a dynamic and hands-on Foreman / Assistant Site Manager to join a leading Tier 1 main contractor on a project in Friston.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have a strong background in structural steelwork and cladding, with the confidence and ability to take a proactive approach to site management. We are looking for someone who is happy to be out on site, engaging directly with subcontractors and trades, driving progress and ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.

The Role

This is a hands-on position suited to an individual who leads from the front, builds positive relationships with the trades and takes pride in keeping works moving.

Key responsibilities include:

• Walking the site regularly to monitor progress, identify issues and ensure works are progressing as planned.
• Coordinating and encouraging subcontractors and trades to maintain momentum and achieve programme targets.
• Overseeing structural steelwork and cladding activities, ensuring works are delivered safely and to the required quality standards.
• Identifying potential delays or coordination issues and taking a proactive approach to resolving them.
• Working closely with the Site Management team to coordinate upcoming activities and maintain progress on site.
• Maintaining high standards of health and safety, quality and housekeeping.
• Communicating effectively with subcontractors, site teams and senior management to ensure the smooth delivery of works.

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience as a Foreman, Assistant Site Manager or similar within the construction industry.
• Ideally, a strong understanding of structural steelwork and cladding packages.
• A proactive, energetic and hands-on approach to site management.
• Confident engaging with subcontractors and trades, encouraging performance and driving progress.
• A practical problem-solver who is comfortable spending the majority of their time on site rather than behind a desk.
• Strong communication, organisational and leadership skills.
• Relevant site qualifications, including CSCS and SMSTS or SSSTS.
