H&S Manager

Job description

An industry leading manufacturer is looking to appoint an experienced H&S Manager to lead Health, Safety and Environmental practices across its operations.

Reporting directly to the General Manager and with the support of a H&S Administrator, you will ensure critical E.H.S compliance, driving continuous improvement and embedding a strong health & safety culture within a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Environmental, Health & Safety (E.H.S) across the business
• Act as the company’s Competent Person for Health & Safety
• Ensure compliance with UK H&S legislation, regulations and best practice
• Maintain H&S Systems including 14001
• Conduct risk assessments, audits and inspections
• Manage non-conformances, corrective actions and incident investigations
• Ensure sites have in place COSHH & Riddor assessments.
• Support the development of health & safety management systems.
• Deliver structured Health & Safety training to employees and management
• Control and manage contractor safety on site
• Liaise with external bodies, regulators and auditors
• Provide clear, proactive EHS advice to senior management

The Ideal Health & Safety Manager Candidate:

• Proven Snr Health & Safety experience within manufacturing / production Environment
• NEBOSH qualified
• Strong knowledge of HSE legislation and ISO standards
• Experience of COSHH requirements and management
• Experience leading audits, risk assessments and compliance programmes
• Confident communicator, able to influence at all levels
• Proactive, organised and improvement-driven
