HGV Class 1 Night Driver | South Kirkby | £40,800
Our client operates a national logistics network with a modern fleet and consistent, well-planned routes. They are looking for a dependable Class 1 Night Driver to join their South Kirkby team permanently. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced driver — or a new pass — looking for stability, fair pay, and a professional working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating Class 1 commercial vehicles safely across long-haul and regional routes on a night shift pattern
- Completing pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle and equipment checks
- Maintaining accurate delivery records, logs, and inspection documentation
- Loading, unloading, and securing freight when required
- Communicating clearly with dispatch, customers, and the wider transport team
- Reporting vehicle defects, incidents, and near misses promptly
- Carrying out minor maintenance checks as required
- Adhering to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and driver hours regulations
- Occasional overnight stays depending on route scheduling
Skills & Experience
- Full Class 1 HGV licence - clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year Class 1 experience preferred - new passes considered
- Ability to operate a range of trailer types
- Strong safety awareness and high attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and consistently meet delivery deadlines
- Physically capable of lifting and handling cargo when required
- Professional and reliable - able to represent the business on the road
