Job description

Hyreus is currently recruiting an experienced HVAC Service Technician for an exciting opportunity based in the West Midlands, working with an established international HVAC manufacturer.

The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, fault-finding and repairing a range of HVAC equipment, with a particular focus on chillers and air handling units (AHUs). This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced field service engineer looking to join an internationally recognised OEM, working with established products and supporting customers across a varied range of commercial and industrial environments.

Working independently and alongside a wider technical support team, you will deliver high standards of service, ensure equipment operates efficiently and reliably, and build strong relationships with customers.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive service work on HVAC equipment, including chillers and AHUs.

  • Diagnose faults and undertake repairs on a range of commercial and industrial HVAC systems.

  • Carry out inspections, servicing and performance checks to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.

  • Identify mechanical, electrical and control-related faults and implement effective solutions.

  • Support the commissioning, installation and servicing of HVAC equipment where required.

  • Complete maintenance reports, service documentation and job records accurately.

  • Provide technical advice and support to customers regarding equipment operation, maintenance and performance.

  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with relevant health and safety requirements, industry standards and company procedures.

  • Maintain professional relationships with customers and provide excellent levels of service.

  • Work closely with internal technical support teams and colleagues to resolve complex equipment issues.

  • Manage allocated service visits and ensure work is completed efficiently and within agreed timescales.

  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, efficiency and customer satisfaction.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience as an HVAC Service Technician, HVAC Engineer or Field Service Engineer.

  • Strong technical experience working with commercial and industrial HVAC systems.

  • Proven hands-on experience servicing, maintaining and fault-finding on chillers and air handling units (AHUs).

  • Good understanding of refrigeration, air conditioning, heating and ventilation systems.

  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

  • Experience working with an HVAC manufacturer or OEM would be advantageous.

  • Relevant technical qualifications in HVAC, refrigeration, air conditioning or mechanical engineering.

  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards, health and safety requirements and safe working practices.

  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with a professional approach to client-facing work.

  • Ability to work independently, manage workload effectively and resolve technical issues.
