Instrument Technician

Jackson Hogg are delighted to be exclusively recruiting for our long standing client for the appointment of an Instrument Technician to join their growing team in Middlesbrough. 

This is a day shift position, working Monday to Friday, with over time readily available. This role would suit someone who has previous expeirence in a similar role and is looking to work for a business where they can grow and progess their career. 

Job Description

• Perform Preventive and Predictive Maintenance activities as per maintenance schedules.
• Respond to breakdowns and urgent furnace related issues during production
• Analyse recurring instrument failures and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain calibration records, loop diagrams and maintenance logs
• Update instrumentation drawings and control loop documentation.
• Assist with audits related to safety, quality and environmental compliance.
• Test and verify Flame Igniters, Pressure Switches, Limit Switches and Emergency Shutdown Systems.

Skills Required

• Strong understanding of Industrial Instrumentation and Control Loops
• Knowledge of Combustion Systems and Furnace Operation
• Proficient in Calibration and Fault Diagnosis
• Ability to read PIDs, Loop Diagrams, and Wiring Drawings
• Strong Safety Awareness in high temperature and gas fired environments.
• Good Communication and Teamwork Skills
