Mechanical Design Engineer – MEP Consultancy
Location: Kent 
Salary: £65,000 - £70,000 + benefits
Type: Permanent, full time

Linea Recruitment is working with a well-established and growing MEP consultancy in Kent to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer. They have a strong reputation for delivering high-quality building services design across commercial, residential, education, healthcare and mixed-use projects, and are looking to strengthen their mechanical team.

The role

• Design mechanical building services including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, chilled water and public health systems
• Carry out design calculations including heat loss and gain, duct and pipe sizing, and plant selection
• Produce drawings, schematics and specifications from RIBA Stage 2 through to Stage 4
• Coordinate designs with architects, structural engineers and electrical colleagues
• Prepare reports, including Part L compliance, energy strategies and low-carbon solutions such as heat pumps
• Attend design team meetings and occasional site visits
• Support and mentor junior engineers as you develop

About you

• Degree or HNC/HND in Building Services or Mechanical Engineering
• Experience in a mechanical design role within a consultancy or design-and-build environment
• Good working knowledge of CIBSE guides, Building Regulations and British Standards
• Proficient in AutoCAD and/or Revit; experience of Hevacomp, IES or similar is a bonus
• Working towards or holding IEng/CEng with CIBSE is desirable
• Organised and confident communicator who enjoys working as part of a team
