Ocean freight Specialist

Job description

We are looking for an Ocean Freight Specialist in the Purfleet Thurrock area 


Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end ocean freight import and export shipments.
• Coordinate Full Container Load (FCL) movements.
• Manage cross-trade shipments 
• Prepare and manage shipping and customs documentation.
• Ensure shipments are processed accurately and within required deadlines.
• Handle customs entries and ensure compliance with relevant customs requirements.

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience within ocean freight / sea freight forwarding.
• knowledge of import and export procedures.
• Proven experience with FCL shipments.
• Experience managing cross-trade freight.
• Good understanding of customs procedures and documentation.
• Experience using freight forwarding and customs systems, ideally one of the following:
  • Destin8
  • CargoWise
  • e-Customs
  • NES
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
