The Role

As a Workshop-Based Plant & LGV Mechanic, you'll be responsible for ensuring all machinery and vehicles are maintained to the highest standards, keeping equipment safe, compliant and ready for operation.

Your duties will include:

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing plant machinery and LGV vehicles
• Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance inspections
• Preparing equipment and vehicles for operational use
• Completing maintenance records and job documentation accurately
• Assisting with major repairs, rebuilds and refurbishment projects
• Supporting breakdown and recovery activities when required
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop environment
• Participating in a rolling call-out rota
• Following all health and safety procedures and industry standards

What We're Looking For

You'll be someone who takes pride in your work, enjoys fault-finding and can work both independently and as part of a team.

Ideal experience includes:

• Plant machinery maintenance and repair
• HGV, LGV or commercial vehicle maintenance
• Hydraulic systems diagnostics and repair
• Electrical fault finding
• Preventative maintenance programmes
• Workshop engineering environments

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Plant Maintenance, Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Full UK Driving Licence
• LGV/HGV Licence advantageous but not essential
