Job Description:

Stafforce Ports are recruiting for Rigger/Lasher Port Operatives to work for for our prestigious client at Tilbury Docks.

Responsibilities:

• Working on ships/vessels supporting the loading and unloading of containers and lorry trailers.
• You will form part of a team chaining & unchaining cargo on the ship to secure it prior to sailing.
• Potentially working as a Banks-person controlling traffic onboard the vessel and ensuring the safe positioning of your team.
• You will need to inspect tools and cargo and report any safety concerns or damages.
• Abide by all health & safety protocols to aid in ensuring yourself & colleagues remain safe in the workplace.

Skills:

• Previous port experience is a benefit but not essential as full & comprehensive training will be provided.
• Be able to pass safety critical environment test such as drug & alcohol testing.
• A Full UK Driving Licence is preferred due to early start times but is not essential.
• Ability to work in an industrial high focused safety critical work area and perform physical tasks.
• A strong attention to detail and accuracy whilst onboard ship.

I return we offer the following:

• Pay rates from £13.30 to £20.40 per hour with an additional £1.50 per hour attendance bonus when criteria is met.
• Working on a fully PAYE basis you will be paid weekly a week in arrears.
• Accrued holiday pay based on hours worked.

• ALL PPE supplied along with a welfare facility.
• Contact with the support team 24/7.
• Ongoing temporary work with a weekly rota supplied a week in advance.
