Marine Civil Engineering Project Manager

Location: Southern United Kingdom
Position: Permanent, Full-Time

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Marine Civil Engineering Project Manager to join a specialist marine construction and civil engineering organisation delivering complex infrastructure projects across the South of the UK.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically competent and commercially astute professional who is comfortable managing challenging marine environments and leading projects from planning and mobilisation through to successful completion.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering marine civil engineering works involving ports, harbours, jetties, quay walls, marine structures, and associated infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of marine civil engineering projects.
• Lead project planning, programming, delivery and close-out activities.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
• Coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers and client stakeholders.
• Prepare and manage project documentation, programmes and reports.
• Monitor commercial performance and support cost control activities.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and industry best practices.
• Manage marine operations and associated project risks.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients and key stakeholders.
• Lead site teams and provide technical guidance throughout project delivery.

Essential Experience

Candidates must demonstrate experience working within marine civil engineering environments and be confident managing projects involving:

• Diving operations
• Jack-Up Barges (JUBs)
• Pontoons and floating plant
• Complex lifting operations
• Marine construction activities

Experience within any of the following would be highly advantageous:

• Ports and harbours
• Quay walls
• Jetties
• Marine piling
• Bridge structures
• Coastal and maritime infrastructure
• Marine temporary works

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should meet one of the following criteria:

Option 1

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience within marine civil engineering project delivery.

Option 2

• Minimum 15 years' experience as a Site Manager, Site Agent or Senior Site Manager within marine construction or marine civil engineering environments.

• Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams.
• Sound understanding of marine construction methodologies.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Commercial awareness and contract management experience.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders in complex operational environments.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach.
