Quantity Surveyor - Groundworks

Location: Kent
Rate: £400 per day (LTD / CIS)
Contract: 12 months

We are currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a reputable groundworks contractor, overseeing the commercial management of two large-scale residential developments in Kent.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven QS with experience in groundworks, civil engineering or residential construction.

The Role

You will be responsible for the commercial management of two major residential groundworks contracts, working closely with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and commercially successfully.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing the commercial aspects of two large residential groundworks projects.
• Preparing and submitting applications for payment and valuations.
• Managing variations, change control and contractual claims.
• Monitoring project costs, budgets and financial forecasts.
• Managing subcontractor accounts and payments.
• Identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
• Working closely with site and project management teams.
• Ensuring accurate commercial reporting and cost control.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
• Groundworks and civil engineering experience would be advantageous.
• Experience working with Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractors will also be considered.
• Strong knowledge of commercial and contractual management.
• Experience managing valuations, variations, subcontractors and project costs.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
