Job description
Regional Sales Manager, workplace safety solutions
Home-based field role | Live between Stoke, Nottingham, Northampton and Worcester
Up to £50,000 basic, quarterly or annual bonus, company car, 28 days' holiday plus bank holidays
A European manufacturer that leads its market in protecting people and workplaces from hazardous materials, with a UK office, showroom and service team, is looking for a Regional Sales Manager to grow its Midlands territory, working through distributors and directly with end users.
What you're selling
The customer isn't buying a cabinet. They're buying a safe, compliant way to store hazardous materials, from lithium-ion batteries to flammable liquids, chemicals and gas cylinders, in laboratories, universities, pharmaceutical sites, factories, defence and construction. That means the site survey, the right distributor, the installation and the service that follows. The business sees its job as raising awareness, not just meeting minimum legal requirements, so much of the selling is education.
Why this role
- The Midlands sits between the north and south sales patches and has been covered alongside other responsibilities. It is a real opportunity to grow, and it needs someone to own it full time
- Resellers already on the patch generate enquiries once the relationship is there, and you are their first point of contact for support on every one
- A market being driven by lithium-ion batteries, where insurers now expect protected storage and most workplaces haven't acted yet
- Projects that grow: one site survey often becomes several products and a service contract
- Two weeks' product training at the manufacturing site, then time in the field with a Sales Director who has a long record selling this product in the UK
- A small team, where what you win is noticed
What you'll bring
- A way of selling that starts with education. On this occasion, that means helping customers understand the regulations and the risk, then recommending the right solution
- A record of winning new B2B business face to face, and of building relationships with partners who bring you in
- Comfort with a sale that has several parts: the end user, the specifier, the distributor and the people on site, and the ability to keep them all moving
- Ownership of the whole job, making sure every part fits together so the order goes through and the customer is looked after
- Confidence presenting to groups, or a real wish to learn
- The discipline to report your pipeline and quotes every week
- A full UK driving licence
That experience could come from health and safety solutions, workplace or facilities products, capital equipment or long-term service contracts. What matters is that you are a professional B2B salesperson who takes the job seriously and is proud to do it.
