Renewables Electrician

Low Carbon Recruitment are currently partnered with a long‑established renewable energy specialist who have been operating for over 25 years across the South, London & the Midlands. With a team of 30+ engineers already in place, they support domestic social housing, commercial sites and public sector clients with modern low carbon electrical systems. They’ve built a strong reputation for safety, quality and reliable service, and due to continued growth, they’re now looking for an fully qualified experienced Renewable Technologies Electrician to join their field operations team.
This role is ideal for an electrician who enjoys varied work, problem‑solving and being hands‑on with modern renewable electrical technologies. You’ll be carrying out servicing, fault finding and repairs across Solar PV, ASHPs, EV chargers and wider electrical systems, ensuring installations run safely and efficiently while delivering excellent customer service.
You will be required to travel to the warehouse each morning to collect materials and load van stock. A company van and fuel card are provided.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for the maintenance and repair of renewable electrical systems across residential and commercial properties. Day‑to‑day, that means:
Electrical servicing — Planned maintenance, diagnostics and performance checks across Solar PV, ASHPs and EV chargers
Fault finding — Quickly identifying issues across electrical, control and renewable components
System replacements — Swap‑outs and upgrades of failed or obsolete electrical equipment
Technical reporting — Producing clear job notes, recommendations and follow‑on work assessments
Safety compliance — Working to BS 7671, industry standards and internal H&S procedures
Customer interaction — Communicating clearly with tenants, clients and site teams
Associated tasks — Supporting wider renewable installations where required
Requirements
NVQ Level 3 Electrotechnical qualification (essential)
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (essential)
Experience working on Solar PV, EV chargers or ASHP systems (preferred – training available)
Strong diagnostic ability across electrical systems
Excellent communication and customer service skills
High personal standards for safety, compliance and workmanship
Full UK Driving Licence
DBS or willingness to undergo one
Salary & Package
£50,000–£55,000 depending on experience
Monday – Friday – 8am – 5pm
Performance bonus (capped & uncapped options)
Overtime available
