SC Cleared Backup Engineer
Initial 6-Month Contract
London | Hybrid
£500 - £600 p/day | Inside IR35

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Backup Engineer to support and maintain enterprise backup and recovery services within a secure enterprise environment.

The successful candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Commvault and/or Rubrik, alongside a solid background in backup administration, disaster recovery and enterprise infrastructure environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitoring, maintaining and administering enterprise backup and recovery services.
• Troubleshooting backup failures, resolving recovery issues and conducting root cause analysis.
• Managing backup policies, retention, replication and reporting.
• Supporting backup and recovery across VMware, Windows, Linux, SQL Server, NAS and enterprise storage environments.
• Assisting with platform upgrades, migrations and operational improvements.
• Supporting disaster recovery activities and recovery testing.
• Producing and maintaining technical documentation, backup procedures and recovery plans.
• Working within ITIL-based operational support environments to ensure service availability and reliability.

Key Requirements:

• Valid SC Clearance
• Proven experience working as a Senior Backup Engineer, Backup Administrator or similar within an enterprise environment.
• Strong hands-on experience administering Commvault and/or Rubrik backup platforms.
• Extensive experience in backup, restore and disaster recovery operations.
• Strong technical knowledge of VMware, Windows Server, Linux and SQL Server environments.
• Experience supporting NAS and enterprise storage platforms.
