SEND Teaching Assistant - PMLD - Specialist SchoolLocation: Bexley, London, England
Pay: £93–£105 per day, depending on qualifications and experience.
Start date: 23 November 2026; immediate start available
Contract: Full-time, temporary, long-term.
Hours: Monday to Friday during term time, Exact hours agreed before placement.
Transparency Education is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant for a specialist school opportunity in Bexley, supporting pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD). You will combine accessible learning support with sensitive personal care.
A pupil’s progress may be shown through a new response, a sustained interaction or a choice. You will need to be observant, respectful and consistent, following individual learning and care plans throughout the day.
- Help pupils engage with sensory learning and agreed communication activities.
- Provide personal care and support safe access to activities within your training.
- Share observations with the class team to inform pupils’ next learning steps.
To be eligible for this role and the stated pay, applicants must have:
- Relevant experience supporting complex disabilities or additional needs.
- Patience and confidence providing personal care with dignity.
- Good observation and teamwork; PMLD or alternative communication experience is desirable.
- Appropriate qualifications and training for the responsibilities of the post.
Higher rates reflect substantial relevant experience and/or training, such as a recognised Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent where relevant. Pay follows school expectations and AWR, where applicable.
