Site Engineer

Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support the delivery of a major drainage package as part of the highways works associated with Sizewell C.

The Role

The successful candidate will provide engineering support across the drainage package, ensuring all works are delivered safely, accurately and in accordance with project specifications, drawings and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Setting out and surveying drainage systems, including pipelines, manholes, chambers and associated infrastructure.
• Ensuring all drainage works are carried out in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.
• Managing levels, lines, gradients and invert levels to ensure accurate installation.
• Carrying out site surveys, as-built surveys and quality inspections.
• Monitoring drainage installation, including pipe laying, connections, bedding and backfilling.
• Maintaining accurate site records, inspection documentation and QA records.
• Liaising with Site Managers, subcontractors and the wider engineering team.
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Site Engineer on drainage, highways, civil engineering or major infrastructure projects.
• Strong setting-out and surveying experience, particularly with drainage systems.
• Competent in the use of surveying equipment and relevant engineering software.
• Good understanding of drainage installation, levels, gradients, engineering drawings and QA procedures.
• Ability to work independently and support the wider delivery team.
• Relevant engineering qualifications or equivalent site experience.
