Support Worker Team Leader
- Location: BIRCHINGTON ON SEA Kent CT7, working in the client's home
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week, including days, weekends and nights
- Pay: £18.19 per hour

About the role
We are looking for an experienced Team Leader to join a small, dedicated care team supporting one client in her own home. You will lead the support workers day to day, and you will also give hands-on care yourself. It's a varied job, and the right person will enjoy both sides of it.
Mentoring, coaching and supervising support workers is the main focus of the role. You'll set the standard for the team, keep the care regime running smoothly, and make sure the client receives person-centred care that helps her live as independently as possible.
What you'll be doing
- Providing direct care and support, including personal care, meals, appointments, social and physical activities
- Supervising, coaching and assessing the practice of support workers, and tackling absence, attendance and performance concerns early
- Helping the Case Manager plan and communicate the staff rota
- Acting as the main link between the client's family, the care team and the STCM team
- Keeping accurate records, monitoring the client's wellbeing and reporting changes to the client's father and the Case Manager Assistant
- Keeping up to date with moving and handling training and CQC requirements
Around 2.5 hours per week will be dedicated to Team Leader duties, with the remainder of your working time spent on shift providing care and support to the client.
What we're looking for
Essential:
- Proven experience of leading a shift, with good team leading skills
- Good listening and communication skills, and the ability to work on your own initiative
- Good written English and math’s, so daily records are accurate
- An understanding of health and safety in a care environment and of CQC regulations
- A full, clean driving licence
Desirable:
- Experience in a similar role or working with vulnerable adults
- A social care qualification or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of person-centred planning
What we offer
- £18.19 per hour for contracted shifts, the same rate on any day or night
- 28 days holiday per year, including bank holidays
- Workplace pension, with employer contributions
- A range of training, including moving and handling, mandatory training, and tailored training to support you in your role and meet the specific care needs of our client
- Clinical supervision and ongoing development
- Extra Support Worker shifts available on top of your contracted hours
This role involves working with a vulnerable adult, so the successful applicant will need to complete an enhanced DBS check, references and right to work checks.
