Location:             Woking, Surrey | Maternity contract (full time or part time considered)

To start:               January 2027 or sooner

Salary:                 MPS – UPS Fringe dependent on experience (£35,602 to £54,382)

The opportunity

ARLO Education is working in partnership with a secondary school to recruit a passionate and committed Teacher of English to join their team. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference to pupils’ learning, progress and confidence within a supportive school environment.

About the role

• Teach English across Key stages 3 & 4.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons that support pupil progress and achievement.
• Assess learning, provide constructive feedback and adapt teaching to meet pupils’ needs.
• Promote positive behaviour, inclusion and a safe, respectful learning environment.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and carers where appropriate.
• Contribute to the wider life and ethos of the school.

The ideal candidate

• Holds QTS/relevant teaching qualification and has suitable experience for the role.
• Has strong subject knowledge and a commitment to effective teaching and learning.
• Build’s positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
• Has high expectations and can support pupils with a range of abilities and needs.
• Is reliable, professional, organised and committed to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
