Primary Teaching Assistant - Burton upon Trent
Location: Burton upon Trent
Rate of Pay: £92.63 - £100 per day
Contract: Full-time or Part-time, Term Time Only

Zest Education is currently recruiting for a caring and enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the Burton upon Trent area. The Role

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and other support staff to deliver high-quality learning experiences across the primary age range. You will provide classroom support, assist with interventions, and help pupils overcome barriers to learning.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the class teacher in the delivery of engaging and effective lessons.
• Working with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce learning.
• Assisting with the preparation and organisation of classroom resources.
• Supporting pupils with a range of learning needs and abilities.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting a productive learning environment.
• Helping pupils develop confidence, independence, and social skills.
• Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teachers where appropriate.
• Contributing to the overall wellbeing and safeguarding of pupils.

The successful candidate will:

• Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (preferred).
• Have previous experience working with children in a school, nursery, childcare, or similar setting.
• Be passionate about supporting children's learning and development.
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be patient, nurturing, and approachable.
• Have the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
• Be organised and capable of managing a variety of tasks effectively.
• Demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach to supporting learning.
• Work well independently and as part of a team.
• Be reliable, adaptable, and committed to providing high-quality support.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
