Job description

Technical Sales Manager – Rail / OLE

Home Based | UK Travel | Competitive Salary + Bonus + Company Car

Are you working within the rail industry with a strong understanding of Overhead Line Equipment (OLE)? Do you have the technical knowledge, industry relationships and commercial ability to identify opportunities and develop business?

We are recruiting for a specialist manufacturer and distributor of OLE products, supplying the UK rail infrastructure sector.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of customer relationships, develop new business and work closely with contractors, consultants and engineering teams on rail infrastructure projects across the UK.

The role combines technical expertise with a strong commercial focus. You will be involved from the early stages of project development, supporting specifications, tenders and quotations, through to product supply and ongoing customer relationships.

What will you be doing?

Developing new business opportunities and growing existing accounts within the rail sector.

Building relationships with contractors, consultants, designers and key decision-makers.

Using your technical understanding of OLE products and systems to advise customers and identify suitable solutions.

Supporting tenders, quotations, technical presentations and project specifications.

Working alongside internal engineering and operational teams to ensure customer requirements are met.

Identifying upcoming projects, market developments and opportunities for commercial growth.

Representing the business at customer meetings and industry events.

Who are we looking for?

We are particularly interested in speaking with individuals already working within the rail supply chain, whether in technical sales, account management, materials management or a commercially focused technical role.

You will need a good understanding of OLE systems and components, ideally including familiarity with Network Rail drawings and design ranges, alongside the confidence to develop relationships and generate new business.

An established network within the UK rail industry would be a significant advantage.

What's on offer?

This is a home-based position with flexibility on location, provided you are comfortable travelling throughout the UK to meet customers.

The package includes a competitive salary, performance-related bonus and company car, along with the opportunity to join an established specialist supplier with ambitions for further growth.

If you have a background in OLE and would like a role that combines your technical expertise with commercial responsibility, we would be keen to hear from you.
