Temporary Shot Blaster/Painter - Dagenham

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Shot Blaster/Painter to join a busy team in Dagenham on an ongoing temporary basis. 

Offering up to £15 per hour (£33,150 per annum), Monday to Friday working hours and the opportunity to gain a counterbalance forklift licence if made permanent.

This is a great opportunity for someone with at least three years’ shotblasting experience and ideally some industrial painting experience.

Daily responsibilities:

• Operating specialist shotblasting equipment to clean and prepare steel components, including road plates and bespoke metal fabrications.
• Removing rust, old paint, mill scale and other surface contaminants from metalwork.
• Preparing steel surfaces to the required standard before painting or protective treatment.
• Applying industrial paint and protective coatings to steel components and road plates where required.
• Inspecting finished work to ensure the required quality and consistency.
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment.
• Following all relevant health and safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
• Working effectively as part of a team to meet production deadlines.

Experience you will need:

• Minimum of three years' shotblasting experience
• Full UK driving licence
• Previous painting experience (desirable).
• Counterbalance forklift licence (desirable).
• Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• A reliable, hardworking and safety-conscious approach.

Package:

• Monday to Friday, 7:30am–4:30pm (42.5hrs)
• Upto Upto £15 per hour (£33,150)
• Ongoing temporary contract for up to 12 weeks (Potential opportunity for a permanent position)
• Should you be offered a permanent position, will put you through your counterbalance forklift certificate.
