Job description
About the role Our cleint designs and builds [products, e.g. automotive systems / industrial equipment]. We need a Test Engineer to plan and run the tests that prove our products are safe, reliable and ready for customers.
What you will do
- Plan and run tests on components, prototypes and finished products
- Set up test rigs, instruments and data logging equipment
- Analyse results and write clear test reports
- Find the cause of failures and work with design teams on fixes
- Write and update test procedures
- Keep test equipment calibrated and the lab safe and organised
What you need
- Degree, HNC or HND in Mechanical, Electrical or Automotive Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years in a test, validation or development engineering role
- Hands-on experience with test equipment, sensors and data acquisition
- Able to read engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Clear report writing and attention to detail
Nice to have
- Environmental or durability testing experience (vibration, thermal, fatigue)
- Experience with test standards such as ISO 17025
- Data analysis skills in Excel, MATLAB or similar
