Job description

My client is looking for a Used Car Sales Manager for their Exeter based branch. The successful candidate will lead and develop the used car sales operation, driving sales performance, profitability, customer satisfaction, and compliance standards while creating a high-performing sales culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, coach, and develop a team of Sales Executives and Business Managers.
• Drive used vehicle sales performance and departmental profitability.
• Ensure outstanding customer service throughout the buying journey.
• Support the sale of finance, GAP insurance, warranties, and additional products in a compliant manner.
• Manage sales campaigns, promotions, and dealership objectives.
• Monitor KPIs, sales targets, and operational performance.
• Maintain high standards of FCA compliance and ethical selling practices.
• Manage stock presentation, pricing, vehicle turnaround, and profitability.
• Conduct first and second-face customer interactions where required.

Skills and Experience:

• Previous experience as a Used Car Sales Manager or Automotive Sales Manager.
• Proven track record of increasing sales and profitability.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills.
• Excellent commercial awareness and customer focus.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Experience within a franchised dealership environment is advantageous.
• Full UK driving licence.
