- Travel to client sites across the UK, with time away from home as required.
- Practical work involving carrying equipment, working at height and following controlled-environment procedures.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assist senior technicians with validation testing of cleanrooms, biological safety cabinets, local exhaust ventilation (LEV) systems and specialist devices.
- Record test results accurately and at the time of testing, using paper and electronic methods in line with ALCOA+ data integrity principles and the employer's recording standards.
- Operate and care for validation instruments, completing pre-use checks and verifying calibration status before deployment.
- Follow site-specific health and safety requirements, risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), and personal protective equipment protocols; escalate concerns and exercise stop-work authority where necessary.
- Maintain correct gowning discipline and working practices in cleanrooms and other controlled environments.
- Communicate professionally with client contacts, working within the scope of a T1 technician and referring queries to senior colleagues appropriately.
- Keep job management, timesheet and asset records accurate, completing pre-visit readiness checks and lone-worker check-in procedures.
- Support colleagues on site, complete assigned training modules and develop the skills needed for progression towards independent working.
About you
- Eligible to work in the UK, with a full, clean driving licence and willingness to travel and stay away from home.
- Able to meet the practical requirements of carrying equipment and working at height safely.
- Numerate and literate, with the attention to detail needed to produce accurate, reliable test records.
- Keen to learn, with a genuine interest in technical work and a commitment to structured professional development.
- Methodical, reliable and punctual, taking responsibility for preparation and getting work right first time.
- Approachable and professional with clients and colleagues; previous customer-facing experience would be useful.
- Previous technical, laboratory, engineering or field-service experience would be welcome, as would knowledge of cleanrooms, HVAC or regulated environments. A relevant science or engineering qualification is desirable rather than essential.
