Royal Mail - Team Leader 

 
We are looking for temporary team leaders to support shift operations, team performance and help ensure parcels move safely and efficiently during one of the busiest periods of the year.


This is a temporary assignment for the Christmas period, with an anticipated end date of December 23rd 2026.


Location: Stoke-on-Trent

As a Parcel Hub Team Leader, you'll oversee shift operations, ensure safety compliance, manage resources and drive performance against key operational targets. You'll lead and support your team to deliver excellent service and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure risk assessments and safe systems of work are in place and followed.
  
  
• Manage shift budgets and drive achievement of performance targets.
  
  
• Plan and allocate resources effectively in collaboration with other managers.
  
  
• Maximise automation throughput and manage maintenance escalations.
  
  
• Lead and support team performance reviews and development.
  
  
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
  
  
• Manage stakeholder relationships and lead change initiatives.
  
  
• Act as the designated Person in Control (PIC) when required.
  
  

What We're Looking For

• Strong planning and project management skills.
  
  
• Excellent data analysis and problem-solving abilities.
  
  
• Effective stakeholder management and communication skills.
  
  
• Resilience and enthusiasm when working under pressure.
  
  
• Experience managing large teams and operational environments, ideally involving automation.
  
  
• Proficiency in IT systems and budget management.
  
  
• Experience with continuous improvement and change management.
  
  
• PIC training and the ability to work with complex system data.
  
  

Pay & Shifts You will pick one of the below shifts to work on until December 23rd.

06:00-14:00 £20.00

14:00-22:00 £20.00

22:00-06:00 £22.00

Important Information

• Temporary assignment: This role is to support Royal Mail's Christmas peak operation and is not a permanent position.
  
  
• Anticipated end date: 23rd December 2026. This date may be subject to change depending on operational requirements.
