Job description

Registered Manager - Children's Residential Home

Location: Lightwood, Stoke-on-Trent
Salary: £55,000-£60,000 per annum + performance-related bonus
Hours: Full-time, Permanent

The Opportunity

We are recruiting for an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to lead an established, four-bed children's residential home in the Lightwood area of Stoke-on-Trent.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing, independent children's residential care provider with ambitious plans for the future. The organisation has been operating for approximately two years and is committed to providing a safe, nurturing and supportive environment where children and young people can thrive.

The home is already operational, currently supporting two children, with plans to gradually increase occupancy to its full four-bed capacity.

We are looking for a confident, hands-on Registered Manager who can take ownership of the home, lead an established staff team and play a key role in its continued development.

For the right individual, there is genuine scope for long-term career progression as the organisation continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities

Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and smooth running of the children's residential home.

Lead, motivate and develop the staff team, promoting a positive and supportive working environment.

Ensure the home operates in full compliance with Ofsted regulations, safeguarding requirements and Children's Homes Quality Standards.

Maintain a safe, stable and nurturing environment that puts the needs and wellbeing of children first.

Oversee staff recruitment, supervision, training and performance management.

Work closely with the company directors to support the ongoing development and success of the home.

Support the safe and appropriate increase in occupancy from two to four children.

Build positive relationships with external professionals, local authorities, families and other stakeholders.

Maintain high standards of care planning, risk management, documentation and quality assurance.

Drive continuous improvement and promote positive outcomes for the children in your care.

What We're Looking For

Previous experience as a Registered Manager within an Ofsted-regulated children's residential home.

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or an equivalent recognised qualification.

Strong working knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and Ofsted requirements.

Experience supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) and complex needs.

Proven ability to lead and develop a residential childcare team.

Strong safeguarding knowledge and confidence managing challenging situations.

Excellent organisational, communication and decision-making skills.

A proactive, hands-on leadership style with the ability to take full responsibility for the home.

A genuine passion for improving outcomes for children and young people.

What's on Offer?

Competitive salary of £55,000-£60,000 per annum.

Performance-related bonus opportunities.

The opportunity to lead an established, operational four-bed home.

Direct working relationships with supportive company directors.

The autonomy to shape the home's development and contribute to its ongoing success.

A growing organisation offering genuine long-term career progression.

The opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of children and young people.

Why Apply?

Unlike opportunities involving the commissioning of a brand-new service, this home is already established and operational, allowing you to focus on developing the team, maintaining high standards and supporting the children currently in care.

You'll have the opportunity to make a genuine impact, with the autonomy to lead the home and the support of directors who are committed to its long-term success.

If you're an experienced Children's Residential Registered Manager looking for a rewarding opportunity with an ambitious and growing provider, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today for a confidential discussion about the position.

Search is an equal opportunities recruiter and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified applicants, regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation or age.
