Site Manager (Temp to Perm)

Location: Canterbury
Job Type: Temporary to Permanent
Start Date: Immediate
Salary/Rate: £260 - £300 

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to join our team on a temporary to permanent basis for an exciting construction project involving the conversion of an existing property, including extensive internal alterations and a new extension.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Site Manager looking for long-term employment with a growing contractor delivering high-quality construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the site, ensuring work is completed safely, on time and to the highest quality standards.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and direct labour.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and company procedures.
• Monitor programme, quality and productivity to meet project milestones.
• Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks and regular safety inspections.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and the project management team.
• Maintain accurate site records, including daily diaries and progress reports.
• Resolve site issues efficiently while maintaining project momentum.
• Ensure all works comply with drawings, specifications and building regulations.

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience as a Site Manager on refurbishment, conversion and extension projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods and sequencing.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple trades and maintain programme delivery.
• Valid SMSTS qualification.
• CSCS Managers Card.
• First Aid at Work certification.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

• Experience working on occupied or sensitive buildings.
• Knowledge of building regulations and quality assurance processes.
• Temporary Works or Fire Marshal training (advantageous).
