Site Manager

Job description

Freelance Site Manager required for a regional civil engineering contractor delivering multiple Roads & Sewers schemes across the North East. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy contractor with a strong pipeline of work, offering a long-term contract and varied project exposure.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day delivery of Roads & Sewers projects, ensuring works are completed safely, to the required quality standards, and in line with programme and budget requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing the day-to-day operations across Roads & Sewers schemes.
• Coordinating site teams, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure works are delivered efficiently.
• Ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications and construction programmes.
• Maintaining high standards of health and safety across site, including ensuring RAMS are followed.
• Monitoring progress against programme and addressing any issues that may affect delivery.
• Managing quality assurance, inspections and site documentation.
• Liaising with clients, engineers and other project stakeholders.
• Ensuring resources, materials and plant are available to meet project requirements.

Experience Required

• Previous experience working as a Site Manager on Roads & Sewers projects.
• Strong knowledge of civil engineering, drainage and infrastructure works.
• Proven ability to manage site teams and subcontractors.
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements, including RAMS.
• SMSTS and CSCS card essential.
• First Aid certification desirable.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to manage site operations independently and drive progress to programme.

Remuneration

£300–£350 per day.
