Technical Sales Executive

Location:  Ashford, Kent (onsite)
Salary: £35,000 basic + uncapped commission (£74,000 OTE)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a market-leading manufacturer that partners with ambitious start-ups and established international brands to bring new products to market. The successful candidate will inherit a strong pipeline of qualified enquiries and play a key role in converting product development projects into manufacturing orders.

This is not a cold-calling role. You'll work with customers who are already engaged in the product development process, guiding them through the commercial stages and helping them make informed manufacturing decisions.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Commercial, you'll manage a pipeline of approximately 30–50 qualified customer opportunities each month. Through telephone and video consultations, you'll build strong relationships, understand customer objectives and provide commercially viable manufacturing solutions.

You'll use in-house pricing and formulation systems to prepare proposals, discuss commercial options and confidently guide customers towards placing manufacturing orders.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a pipeline of 30–50 qualified customer opportunities each month.

• Conduct regular telephone and video consultations with prospective customers.

• Build rapport and develop trusted relationships throughout the sales process.

• Understand customer requirements, budgets and commercial objectives.

• Provide consultative advice to help customers develop commercially viable products.

• Prepare and present manufacturing quotations using internal pricing systems.

• Explain commercial options including ingredients, packaging, product formats and order quantities.

• Liaise with internal departments to identify practical manufacturing solutions.

• Maintain accurate records and consistent follow-up throughout the sales cycle.

• Convert qualified opportunities into confirmed manufacturing orders.

About You

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience within Sales, Business Development, Account Management or another customer-facing commercial role.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong negotiation and relationship-building abilities.

• Good mathematical and analytical skills.

• Strong IT skills and the ability to learn specialist software.

• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.

• A proactive, solutions-focused approach.

What's on Offer

£35,000 basic salary.

Realistic On-Target Earnings of £74,000 through an attractive commission structure.
