Job Description:

ANZUK are working with a specialist independent provision in Gillingham, Medway supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, who are seeking a dedicated Upper KS2 Tutor/Teacher to join their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a highly supportive, therapeutic environment with small class sizes and a strong focus on building positive relationships and re-engaging pupils in education. You will be teaching a small group of KS2 pupils, many of whom have experienced barriers to learning, and will play a key role in supporting both their academic progress and emotional development.

Job Title: SEND KS2 Tutor

Location: Gillingham

Pay Range: £146 – 164 per day

Days: Full-Time (Mon – Friday)

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons to an Upper KS2 cohort
• Support pupils with SEMH needs and associated behaviours
• Create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment
• Adapt teaching approaches to meet individual learning needs
• Build strong, consistent relationships with pupils to promote engagement
• Work collaboratively with support staff and wider teams

The Ideal Candidate

• We are keen to hear from candidates who:
• Have experience working with SEMH, SEND, or behaviour that challenges
• Are confident delivering lessons at KS2 level (particularly English and Maths)
• Have a calm, resilient and relationship-led approach
• Can engage and motivate pupils who may be disengaged from education

We welcome applications from individuals with a range of backgrounds, including:

• Qualified Teachers (QTS) looking to transition into a more specialist SEND/SEMH setting
• Experienced SEND Tutors, HLTAs, or Unqualified Teachers confident in delivering KS2 learning
• Professionals with experience in Alternative Provision, PRUs, or specialist settings
• Above all, we are looking for someone who brings the right attitude, resilience, and relationship-led approach.

QTS is not essential — your ability to engage, support and inspire pupils with SEMH needs is what matters most.
