Vehicle Technician

Job description

We are recruiting for an experienced Vehicle Technician, Automotive Technician, Motor Vehicle Technician or Car Technician to join a busy main dealership in Dover. Applicants must have at least two years' experience as a Vehicle Technician, hold a Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, possess a valid MOT Tester Licence and have a Full UK Driving Licence.

Location: Dover
Salary: Up to £40,000 Basic + Benefits
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:30pm (30-minute lunch), plus 1 in 3 Saturdays

Vehicle Technician Role

• Carry out vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs to manufacturer standards
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults
• Complete vehicle health checks and inspections
• Carry out MOT testing in line with DVSA regulations
• Conduct road tests before and after repairs where required
• Maintain accurate workshop records and job cards
• Work closely with Service Advisors and the Workshop Controller to maintain workshop efficiency

Vehicle Technician Requirements

• Minimum two years' experience as a Vehicle Technician, Automotive Technician, Motor Vehicle Technician or Car Technician
• Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (NVQ, IMI, City & Guilds or equivalent)
• Valid MOT Tester Licence
• Strong mechanical servicing, maintenance and diagnostic skills
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Ability to work independently and as part of a workshop team
• Excellent attention to detail and high standards of workmanship
